Care and Share Group Cannock Launch
Chase District Director for Social Care & Health, Stuart Rees, officiated at the launch of the new Cannock Care and Share Group that took place on Tuesday 6th April 2010 at Avon Business and Leisure Centre, Cannock.
The event was extremely well attended and received positive feedback from the service users. Thanks go to Death Blind UK for their support in addressing this first meeting of the Group and Chase Day Service for their creation of the lovely cake they produced for the occasion.
The group has been set up to encourage people with dual sensory loss (Deaf and Blind) to socialise and help them stay within their own homes and communities for longer. The fortnightly meetings will also provide the opportunity for attendees to gain access to the Rehabilitation Officers from Social Care and Health to help with any equipment problems. Speakers will be attending once a month to provide information and advice on a range of topics.
The group is run by Chase CVS in partnership with Staffordshire County Council’s Social Care and Health department and is funded by “Staffordshire Cares Community Wellbeing Fund” facilitated by Staffordshire County Council.
Care and Share Group Cannock will meet every other Tuesday from 1.15pm to 3.15pm at Avon Business And Leisure Centre, Avon Road, Cannock.
